Dragon Age (movie)

We are a sucker for dragons. We'll watch whatever dragon movie you throw us. I was drawn to playing Magic the Gathering because of the dragons. Our first ever expansion in MTG was Knights vs Dragons.

And so we're looking forward to this movie "Dragon Age" that will be released by Funimation in 2012. (Oh Funimation, you never fail us!!! ♥ ♥ ♥)

The official website in Japan for the FUNimation/T.O Entertainment produced CG Dragon Age movie has opened revealing some new information. Although the movie is titled "Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker" in English, the movie is officially titled Dragon Age: Blood Mage no Seisen (Dragon Age: The Blood Mage's Crusade) in Japan and will premiere in theaters February 11, 2012 in Japan. FUNimation will be releasing the movie in the US sometime in 2012. (source: Crunchyroll.)

Game of Thrones (TV)

We have been watching the first season of Game of Thrones and we heart - heart - heart it!

Game of Thrones is an HBO medieval fantasy series based on George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels.

About it: "Summer span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. It will stretch from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues; to the vast and savage eastern lands; all the way to the frozen north, where an 800-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men... all will play the 'Game of Thrones'."

Our top three favorite characters in the Game of Thrones series so far are:

1. Tyrion Lannister a.k.a The Imp. He's just so in character and you can't take him for granted.

Tyrion Lannister: "Let me give you some advice, bastard:Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you."

2. Daenerys Targaryen a.k.a Khaleesi . She is super pretty plus she's a dragon princess (and we're a sucker for dragons ).

Daenerys Targaryen: "I have never been nothing. I am the blood of the dragon."

3. Arya Stark a.k.a Boy (hehe!) She is probably the only smart Stark and she knows what she wants.

Arya Stark: "My father is Hand of the King. I am not a boy, I am Arya Stark of Winterfell. And if you lay a hand on me my father will have both of your heads on spikes. Now, are you going to let me by, or do I have to smack you on the ear to help you with your hearing?"

Eiga Sai 2011

It's Philippines-Japan Friendship month again and so we were at the Eiga Sai 2011 in Shang Cineplex Cinema 4, Shangrila Plaza.

We almost missed this year's event and we're just glad we were able to make it to watching the anime Summer Days with Coo.

The movie was worth waking up early. Summer Days with Coo is about a young water-sprite finding his place in the modern world. Coo, the water sprite, has been buried underground / trapped inside a rock since the Edo period. Hundreds of years later, a young boy named Koichi found him and brought him to his house thinking he was some sort of fossil. Of course we're not going to tell you more. It's a really nice movie so we hope you get to watch it too.

Summer Wars (anime)

We just watched this two-hour animation film last night. It's awesome! Summer Wars is science fiction but it's very tangible in so many ways. It's about a high school student who got invited by his senior in school to help in celebrating her grandmother's birthday. We won't say anything else as it'll be a spoiler. What we love the most about the film is it's setting. Hope they make a live-action of this.

City Island

City Island is a Raymond De Felitta film about a prison guard (played by Mr. Andy Garcia), his family, their individual secrets and a prisoner brought to their home to witness it all.

The story is touching but not cheesy. The plot is reasonably real and witty. The characters are all interesting. It's a great family movie. We encourage you to watch it. May you learn from City Island and may it make you laugh as much as we did. (wink!)

How To Train Your Dragon

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON by Dreamworks is a must-see movie! It's about a young Viking wanting to hunt dragons but ends up befriending them instead. Yeah--- very simple plot! But it's really funny. The dialogue is so real. The voice cast did a great job. The animation is rockin' awesome! We loved it! It's a bit early to say this but it might become our favorite movie this year.

We think you'll appreciate this movie more if you play Monster Hunter. By the way, we're NOT comparing or saying someone copied what or whatever negative thing there is for you to say. A few of the dragons in the movie reminded us of the monsters in Monster Hunter. Another reason why we enjoyed it a lot. That's just it period. Check this out:
